Preventing, limiting and recovering from a ransomware attack
The threat of ransomware has been increasing worldwide for several years. This malicious software can affect any organization that has not taken the right measures. The NCSC publishes a ransomware fact sheet containing measures to prevent, mitigate and repair a ransomware attack.
In recent years, a new approach has emerged: malicious parties are conducting more targeted ransomware attacks on targets that can pay a higher ransom. In the fact sheet, the NCSC provides an overview of the different types of ransomware, describes some measures that you can take as an organization to prevent a ransomware attack and give advice on what to do if your organization is infected with ransomware.
With this fact sheet, the NCSC supports Dutch society in increasing digital resilience, specifically the digital resilience of central government and vital providers.
